About Rock and Ice

20 years ago Richard Hogan qualified as a junior climbing instructor (SPSA) and had a vision of running an outdoor pursuits company - Rock and Ice was formed.

Richard had previously worked in the building industry on many housing projects as well as a steeplejack, specialising in lightning conductor fitting, often working in difficult conditions on rooftops from aircraft hangars to high rise.

Also trained and experienced in working with scaffolding systems, Richard has a unique angle when carrying out risk assessments for urban abseiling and drawing up plans.

This experience has been invaluable for working on high rise abseil projects and buildings facilitating extreme abseil events.

Then in 1997 Richard gained the coveted Mountaineering Instructor Award 'The MIA', became a full member of AMI, and then got licenced for adventurous activities by the HSE / AALA. Most 'competition' in this field have neither accreditations nor the experience that Richard has.

His clients have varied over the years from major business organisations and charities to ambitious individuals and film crews - Charity abseils .com is an offshoot of this successful outdoor pursuits business Rock and Ice.

Richard does not work alone and has many loyal instructors who work along with him on these activities and events, they are the best in their field, with hundreds of successful events behind them and a safety record second to none.

Richard Hogan - Trading as' Rock and Ice' is registered with the HSE - AALS as a provider of activities that include abseiling.

You can be assured you are getting experience as well as unrivalled professionalism with Rock and Ice.
